Natural Products I Use (& Reviews!)

Natural products have become all the hype in recent years.
To be honest, at first, I was one of the skeptics. Not so sure the healthy products would do the job as well as my beloved drugstore brands.

But, after suffering from recurrent miscarriage and being told by my naturopath that natural is best for hormone and overall health – I decided to commit to the switch.
To be honest, I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner because now I would never go back!

I would now officially call myself a natural product junkie and I truly try and avoid using anything else.

Over the last couple of years I’ve tried and tested MANY products. Some were great, and some were not-so-great. So I’ve decided to break it down for you and write up a quick a list of all I’m currently using and loving.

Schmidt’s Deodorant

In all honesty, deodorant was the most difficult for me to make a switch with. I was so worried it wouldn’t work and I would smell. There were a few brands I tried that were too ‘wet’ feeling and didn’t work for me personally. But Schmidt’s was the winner! It goes on just like traditional deodorant, has the same dry-smooth-chalky feel that I personally prefer and it works just as well (if not better!) than regular deodorant for me. I use the scent Bergamont Lime and it’s dreamy.

SUKIN SKINCARE

To be honest I wasn’t 100% sure about this when I started this regime until I realized it’s only 1 of the 3 products that I don’t love.
I’m BEYOND picky about what goes on my face. I’d rather just rinse my face with water than use a fragrant chemical based face wash. For many years I only washed with coconut oil.
But because of my job with so many photos, videos and events – I’ve been wearing a lot more make up in the last couple years. So I decided to become an adult and look into a proper skin care routine.

I found Sukin and it very reasonably priced, organic and free of all chemicals and paragons.
The creamy milk cleanser feels so cooling and calming on your face, and the toner is more refreshing and hydrating than stripping. Personally I don’t love the moisturizer. It gave me a small break out and isn’t as hydrating as I prefer.

So I use step one (cleanser) and step two (toner) and then use another face cream afterwards. I’ll tell you all about that next.

A-Derma Moisturizer

All A-Derma cleansers are LIFE CHANGING. Especially if you skin is on the more dry side and can take a lot of heavy creaminess. Honestly, I have pretty good skin for my age. I truly accredit it to eating well, drinking a lot of water and using a super thick moisturizer every day. These are free of all parabens, harmful chemicals and are fragrance free. I personally will not use a moisturizer with a scent… why would I put perfume (which is basically alcohol) on my face? Makes zero sense.
Anyway, A-Derma is my favourite moisturizer. It’s not well known and no one I know uses it. But if you like a thick, nourishing and super clean cream – you will LOVE.

Live Clean Shampoo & Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner does wonders on my hair. It’s gentle, but the conditioner actually works unlike many natural hair products. It’s easily accessible as you can get them at most drugstores and they come in a variety of scents.
These are clean, cheap and work well!
For me, it’s a not brainer!

Green Beaver Sunscreen

I’m obsessed with these sunscreens! Both the face cream (which I’ve been using daily, especially with all my time up at the cottage) and the spray sunscreen for your body are fantastic.
The facial sunscreen even has a light tint so your face isn’t stark white. It’s really lovely.
Both are not too heavy or oily. Natural and very affordable. I got mine off amazon and will repeat order for sure!
